The Indonesian Post released the stamps features Bung Hatta for celebrating of his centenary in year 2002. The issue stamp consist of 4 postage stamps and represented in a miniature sheet.
Bung Hatta settled as the first vice president of Indonesia Republic.He is brightening agent the nature of thinking.He was induced Indonesian people to develop democracy.
Mohammad Hatta was born on August 12, 1902 in Bukittinggi, West Sumatera.Original his name is Mohammad Attar, but rather difficult to spell it so that often call him with “Atta” , furthermore with “Hatta”.He was growing up in family that gives the value of hard-work, honesty, rightness, discipline and strong-religion norm This condition influenced to his attitude and social behaviour.
His family desires that after he was growing up, became the religious man. But it turn out to the another world.He was studied at the Europes Lager School (ELS) in Bukittinggi. Then continued studied at Mulo (Secondary school) in Padang. Further he moved to Jakarta to study at Prince Hendrik School, the Secondary school for Commerce in Jakarta 1919. Finally he study at college in Dutch Rotterdamse Handels hogeschool (1921-1932) and he got the title of Doctorandus.
Since he was young, he was active in organization. When he stayed in Dutch he active in the Indonesian Club organisation. Formerly as treasure (1922-1925) and then became as the chairman (1926-1929). His organisation has aim to eliminate the Dutch Colonialism in Indonesia.In year 1926, he was acted as the leader of Indonesia delegation at the International Democracy Congress in France . In year 1927, he was acted as leader of Indonesia delegation on the Congress League Anti Colonial in Brussels. His activity has opened the eyes of outside world about struggle claim of Indonesian independent.
On year 1932, he was back in Indonesia. He formed the Party of Educational National of Indonesia. His movement especially to form young generation that bear responsible his idea as one unbreakable link to aim the Indonesian freedom.
The jail and banishment to the isolated place, he was endure with the sincere heart. He believed that every thing in the world could be changed. The arrival army of Japanese triggers that change. But Japanese is not differ with Dutch Colonial. Together with Bung Karno and the other leaders was form strategic joint with Japanese to create a Indonesian Freedom.
Defeated Japanese by Alien on the 15th of August 1945 make the Indonesian people shocked because more fast than they presumed. This situation make the atmosphere tight because jostled of the emotion people for as fast as to proclaim the independent. There was happened the incredible drama, both Bung Hatta and Bung Karno was disappeared. They were kidnaped by the Indonesian youths in safely place, because the youths have revolt to Japanese. But it was failed.
Afterward Bung Hatta and Bung Karno back with peculiarity weariness . Without waited more long time on 17th of August 1945, both Bung Karno and Bung Hatta proclaimed the Indonesian Independent upon name of Indonesian Nationality. That day was establishing the Nation Unitary Republic of Indonesia.
